Trending Topics - Buzzfeed
In a world moved by what is and what is not hashtagged across the twittersphere and facebook and even instagram, Buzzfeed, for as much as they try, are not one of those things though they desperately try to be. Buzzfeed has released an absolute bevy of heavily left leaning content and that is not exactly an issue because almost everything said and done in a public way is almost always political to some extent. But in Buzzfeed's case is that really helping? This writer has friends that believe in a spectrum of political views but even my heaviest left leaning compatriots are wildly confused but some of what Buzzfeed has to offer. Now some of Buzzfeeds content is not to bad, such as recipes, some of their creators reacting to things, but Buzzfeed is not above scraping the bottom of the barrel for some dumb things. With videos such as "Weird things that only make sense to americans", they have videos of people that work for them that are just strange. Theres a buzzfeed video fo one of their creators who went to work at the office dressed in nothing but body paint(he had a painted over speedo so no genitalia), i dont know how thats not an HR issue. Then there are videos that are very cringe inducing such as "i wore a cursed bracelet for a day", "sex facts that sound fake", "baby hater becomes a dad for a day", and a video about one of their creators whos never eaten fruit before, can be seen here. They have a video entitled "im christian, but im not..." which is just a slanderous poke at conservatives if ive ever seen one, i am not a conservative but i also dont make content blasting them on youtube. Something else that has Buzzfeed as a weird place to go is their beliefs and content on the gender debate. So many videos on people who are egnderfluid/non-conforming and how that is the future as well as videos on being gender non-conforming parents which makes most of its participants look weird or even abusive trying to make their child be something or other. During the video of a female employee of Buzzfeed wearing nothing but tight underwear and body paint its very pandering, find very pretty girl, check, backstory of low self esteem, check, make her wear nothing but paint, check, learn a life lesson? Sure? Another video is "36 questions woman have for men" and one of the very first questions is "how does it feel to be the same sex as Donald Trump?", am i learning from this or is this just bashing on men? The answer is bashing on men you can watch it here. Now i would liek to make clear i am not against feminism, feminism itself is about equality of the sexes and thats very important but making video upon video upon video demonizing men and then calling it feminism is not really the way to go. Lets not forget the issue of manspreading. If you have not heard of this it is probably because you dont watch Buzzfeed. Manspreading is the term used to describe when a man sits down with his legs apart, because you know our genitals are there, and as many feminist believe this is men showing their dominance by taking up as much space as possible, biology aside because that doesnt matter. In this video "women try manspreading for a week" where some of Buzzfeeds female employees sit with legs spread on public transport in overly exaggerated ways. Is Buzzfeed really news or just a portal for a certain agenda and bottom of the barrel writing.
