Wild Card - pandering pandemic pandemonium

Well we are all stuck inside, for the introverts great, for everyone else not so much. So what are we all doing? Probably consuming way more T.V. and video games than is probably good for us, or in the case of my wife and I bought many movies via VOD(video on demand such as VUDU). What are most of us seeing though? Ads. Ads from all sorts of brands spanning the entire spectrum of goods and services. If you see them on facebook, tiktok, instagram, and even twitter. All these brands are fighting for our attention, trying to get us to think they are the white knight of the Covid 19 crisis championing the cause. Companies switching production in their facilities to make face masks or other goods and services that are in short supply. Companies like Burger King reminding us that they can become a "Burger King Couch Potatriot", whatever that means, because BK offers delivery, through door dash. Dominoes and Papa Johns tells us that their pizza oven is hot enough to kill germs. Are ...

Trending Topics - Buzzfeed

In a world moved by what is and what is not hashtagged across the twittersphere and facebook and even instagram, Buzzfeed, for as much as they try, are not one of those things though they desperately try to be. Buzzfeed has released an absolute bevy of heavily left leaning content and that is not exactly an issue because almost everything said and done in a public way is almost always political to some extent. Now some of Buzzfeeds content is not to bad, such as recipes, some of their creators reacting to things, but Buzzfeed is not above scraping the bottom of the barrel for some dumb things. With videos such as "Weird things that only make sense to americans", they have videos of people that work for them that are just strange. Theres a buzzfeed vide...

Crisis management - Respawn entertainment

Image
Respawn entertainment came under fire recently as they decided during a reddit AMA(ask me anything) that they would go on to insult their fan base. During the AMA questions were asked as usual about development, upcoming features, E.T.C. But when asked about the prices of the purchasable cosmetics(skins for character models and so on), which roughly cost about $16 of premium currency, one of the developers had this to say when talking about the fan base of their free-to-play game Apex legends. In the world of free-to-play games there is monetization of cosmetics unfortunately those items are hidden in loot boxes, which is a whole other controversy, and to get specific skins for your favorite character in Apex you have to buy premium currency in the $20 range to have enough to get the skin which as previously stated equates to $16. Lets think about that for a second $16 for a slight change to the appearance of a character that has no other benefit other than to look different, no ext...
